Buck Taylor is an American artist and actor popularly known for portraying the role of gunsmith and Deputy Marshall Newly O’Brien in the CBS TV series Gunsmoke from 1967 to 1975.
Aside from acting, Buck is also a notable painter for 50 years, and his artworks specialize in paintings with the influence of the American West.
Buck has received awards from the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum with the Wrangler (also known as the Western Heritage Award) and the Spirit of Texas award from the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame.
Born Walter Clarence Taylor III, Buck Taylor was born on the 13th day of May 1938 in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California. His father, Walter Taylor Jr., is a famous cinema actor nicknamed ‘Dub Taylor.’
