When Rey Mysterio and Angie, who would later become his wife, first crossed paths in the early 1990s, they were both still in their teenage years. Angie was not fascinated by professional wrestling and had no idea who the Mexican superstar was.
Even though he had already begun his wrestling career a few years, His future wife was unaware of his existence. After meeting Angie for the first time at a gym, the professional wrestler revealed in his autobiography titled “Rey Mysterio: Behind the Mask” that he instantly fell in love with her upon seeing her for the first time.
The one-time WWE Champion and Angie did not immediately begin a romantic relationship. Although they had a passion for each other and had even shared a kiss at one point, they chose to keep their relationship at the platonic friend level because Angie was in a relationship at the time.
