Ryan John McPartlin, simply known as Ryan McPartlin, is an American actor best recognized on NBC’s action-comedy series ‘Chuck’ as Devon “Captain Awesome” Woodcomb. Steve and Lois McPartlin welcomed McPartlin into the world in Chicago, Illinois on July 3, 1975.
He was reared in the Chicago neighborhood of Glen Ellyn, Illinois, and went to Glenbard South High School. The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign awarded McPartlin a degree in speech communication.
From 1993 through 1995, he played tight end as a walk-on for the football team of the Illinois Fighting Illini. He was raised alongside his two brothers, Scott and Chris.
